Microagressive behavior includes spoken, written, nonverbal, and environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative bias. Occurring in every day encounters, microaggressions have direct, long lasting, and hurtful impacts. This panel seeks to raise awareness of microagressive behaviors, explain how to identify them, and to help session attendees begin to develop a sense of responsibility and gauge an appropriate response.
