MLIS student, the University of British Columbia. I am the MLStEP Liaison for the MLA Pacific Northwest Chapter and have an MA from York University in ethnomusicology and popular music studies.

I recently completed a Professional Experience with the University of Saskatchewan where I helped build a collection development tool that Canadian librarians or music professionals can use to increase the representation of BIPOC composers in their collections or programs. I am currently part way through completion of a one-year long Co-op work term (fulltime internship) at Simon Fraser University Library where I am supporting the Contemporary Arts Librarian with a music book weeding project, among other tasks.

My current music librarianship interests include collection development and diversity, music information retrieval and digital tools for music research, rare materials and special collections, and AV archival management. Recently I've gained knowledge around contemporary information practices and protocols in support of Indigenous initiatives, including initiatives to reclaim ethnographic sound recordings of songs from colonial collecting institutions. I would like to learn more about how anti-racism and also decolonization or indigenization work can be incorporated into the music librarianship profession.
