I grew up in Lakewood, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, went to Lawrence University as an undergraduate, and Columbia University, the University of Iowa, and the University of Texas as a graduate student.  I also lived in Washington, DC during two stints for a total of 11 years.  I've visited London, Paris, and Florence, and been to quite a few MLA conferences.  If we don't have anything in common, we should get together and tell each other what cool thing to do next.
