Peter Shirts is the Music Librarian at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has an M.S. in Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Carolina Academic Library Associate (CALA) working in the music library. He also was a Junior Fellow Intern at the Library of Congress in the Music Division. Prior to Emory, Peter worked as Music and Audiovisual Librarian University of Hawaiʽi at Mānoa. Peter also holds a M.A. in Musicology from the University of Michigan and a B.M. in Music Education from Brigham Young University, and research interests include collection development, streaming media, music preservation, early 20th-century music, and popular music.
